Cookie Policy

The Short Version

GearXplorer does not use tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through. Nothing on this site follows you around the web.

Analytics

We count visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, does not collect personal information and does not track you across other websites. It tells us which pages are popular so we know what to improve.

Data Stored in Your Browser

A few features remember things in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:

• Comparison list – the products you add to compare, so the comparison bar is still there when you move between pages.

• Recently viewed – the last few products you looked at, so you can find them again.

You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for gearxplorer.com.

Embedded Videos

Some product pages include YouTube reviews. These use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set cookies just because the page loads. If you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.

Affiliate Links

Some links to retailers such as Amazon are affiliate links. We set no cookies when you click them, but the retailer may set its own cookies once you arrive on its website, under its own cookie policy. This is how the retailer credits us for the referral, at no extra cost to you.
